• Personalisation — showing your class and board's syllabus, remembering your preferences
• Gamification — calculating XP, streaks, and achievements
• Certificates — generating achievement certificates with your name and score
• Service improvement — anonymised aggregate analytics to improve quiz quality
• Security — detecting and preventing abuse or unauthorised access

4 · Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Netlify Blobs (cloud storage by Netlify, Inc., USA) on servers protected with industry-standard encryption.

• All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS
• PINs are never stored in plain text
• Access to your data is restricted to your account only
• We do not retain data longer than necessary

As Netlify is a US-based service, your data may be processed and stored in the United States. Netlify maintains appropriate data protection safeguards. By using our service, you consent to this transfer.

5 · Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive from Google only:

• Your name (as registered with Google)
• Your Google email address
• Your profile picture URL

We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, or any other Google service. The data we receive from Google is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

6 · Children's Privacy

India School Quiz is designed to be safe for students of all ages, including young children. We take children's privacy very seriously:

• We do not collect more data from children under 13 than is necessary for the educational service
• We do not display advertising to any users, including children
• We do not share children's data with third parties for commercial purposes
• Parents may request deletion of their child's account and data at any time
• We comply with the applicable provisions of India's Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and IT Rules regarding child safety online

7 · Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023)

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the following rights:

• Right to Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Right to Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to Erasure — request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Right to Grievance Redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer
• Right to Nominate — nominate a person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity

8 · Cookies & Session Storage

We use sessionStorage (browser session storage — not cookies) to keep you logged in during your current browser session. This data is automatically cleared when you close your browser tab.

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel.
